Save the Date! February 13th at 9am PT - Live Beginners Basics Beading Class!
We have been having so much fun with all the Beadaholique Live Classes and are excited to announce a special one coming up on Thursday, February 13th at 9am PT/12pm ET. This class will be dedicated to all the new jewelry makers out there who are just starting on their creative journey! This beginners basics class will cover the major techniques you need to know to make all sorts of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and more. In the class, you will learn how to:
- Open and close a jump ring
- Make simple wire loops
- Make wrapped wire loops
- Open an earring loop
- Crimp a crimp bead
- Review of seed bead types and sizes
- Review of wire gauges
- Review of stringing materials and which ones to use for which projects
- Overview of the following tools: chain nose pliers, round nose pliers, wire looping pliers, cutters, and crimping pliers
- We will also make a bracelet and pair of earrings using these techniques!
If you would like to bead along with me, here is a list of supplies and tools to order. We will end up making a pair of earrings and a bracelet with these supplies. I have provided links to my personal favorites, but feel free to order whichever ones you feel would be best for your creativity and budget.
SUPPLIES LIST FOR BEGINNERS BASIC BEADING CLASS
See our special supplies list collection page (similar to our project pages) to purchase all supplies with one click or adjust quantities as needed.
CHAIN NOSE PLIERS
Chain Nose Pliers. Having two pairs is very handy although you can use 1 pair of chain nose and a pair of round nose pliers as your "second" pair. If you want to have two pairs of chain nose pliers, the Wubbers Classic Series Chain Nose Quality Jeweller's Pliers is a good choice for a second pair.
ROUND NOSE PLIERS
Round Nose Pliers. Please note, I will teach how to do techniques with basic round nose pliers which is a very commonly used tool, but I will also show how to use a wire looping plier (The Beadsmith Wire Looping Pliers - Concave And Round Nose) which is my personal all-time favorite tool.
FLUSH WIRE CUTTERS
CRIMPING PLIERS
Standard Size Beading Crimping Pliers (For 2x2mm & 2x1mm Crimp Beads)
Crimping Pliers. You will learn how to use basic crimping pliers during the class.
BEADS
Beads. The Sparkle Kitty mix linked above is a nice assortment of 6mm beads that we will be using in the class to demonstrate techniques.
